I had the chance to listen to Mark, he discussed various aspects of PROUT during his talk at the Bank Of Ideas Saturday 7th January:
Helping others for no rewards – don’t need to be paid for everything. You can be happy helping each other. In fact happier than when working for a paid job.
Some paid jobs can be boring, have you ever thought how many people got involved? By buying the product you’re supporting that persons menial work.
Resource sharing – no need to be greedy and selfish with your food/equipment, you can share
Maximum utilisation of food and resources – if you grow your own food you will be more careful not to waste it
Caring of our local environment – how come you send your personal waste into the sewage system. Do you understand what happens? Would you want to mix waste and fresh water if you had to maintain your own water?
Democracy – If you aren’t happy with the government/supermarkets/oil industry as long as you’re still shopping and supporting them, they will continue in their unethical ways.
Mark also mentioned an easy option of life is to remain part of the system and conveniently shop for produce, there are many questions you have to ask yourself:
Ideas were mentioned from Mark, the audience and Nick Rosen:

On Friday 6th January 2012 our PROUT tent was dismantled and packed away. We haven’t forgotten or will ignore the Occupy London movement.
What’s the next stage of Occupy London? On at least Wednesday 11th January the high court judge will give their decision on the case for eviction of tent city camp on St Paul’s Churchyard and the Bank Of Ideas.
Will there will be a momentum to keep the movement going?
Lets keep our eyes open, see what part we can play in Occupy.
This Wednesday we prepare food, then we served to over 80 people at the food tent in St Paul’s churchyard.
We will be preparing food and serving this coming Wednesday 11th January.
